After 22 years of raising kids, M.C. Swab realized that she had finally reached the “empty nest” phase of her life. What to do next?
She did some soul-searching and even sought a little therapy to help her figure out what she should do next. Her therapist encouraged her to find a passion and pursue it — but for so long, her sole passion in life had been raising her kids and taking care of her family – was there life after an empty nest? Since she has always enjoyed the unusual, she decided to explore other people’s seemingly bizarre passions and find out why they love what seems so odd to the rest of us.
She begged her eldest son to join her on her adventure as cameraman and set out to find people with crazy passions. M.C. discovered there is, in fact, life outside of the “coop” — along the way, she has also discovered that there are some pretty awesome people who are willing to help her get out of her box. She has learned that chasing your passion is worth it — no matter what anybody thinks.
