This is the worlds oldest sport. It started thousands of years ago with Kings and Queens. These members of the Royal Gauntlet carry on the tradition with these majestic creatures. Their passion is gaining the trust of these wild birds and training them to come back after a hunt. I must admit it is an incredible feeling when they return to you.
The Worlds Oldest Rattlesnake Round Up has been happening since the 1930's in Okeene Oklahoma! It all began because the snakes were killing the cattle so the ranchers started the round up. These rattlesnake hunters get a huge adrenaline rush catching these deadly dudes LIVE!!! Then they bring them to the round up and sell them. And thousands come to see the pit of snakes and eat some Snake Steaks! http://www.okeenerattlesnakehunt.com/
Flat Track Roller Derby has made a huge come back in the last 5 years. Leagues are growing like crazy. These ladies, ages 18-52 say it has been like their "sorority"--they are like a family a "wolf pack." Other bonuses they love are the excellent workout and the anger management! Check these tough chicks out! http://www.derbystrong.com/
WOW! What a nice bunch of "girls" By day, they are guys--a nurse, a retail worker, and one with a ballet company. But by night, they are Veronica Spice, Kyra Banks, Roxie Hart. They let me behind the scenes of their fabulous show at the HiLo Club. They say they love the theatrics of it. Like Halloween! The hair, the make up, the clothes, the transformation!!!! I am working on the video of this adventure--stay tuned, for the video adventure! Check the HiLo out it's the place to be! Coolest signage too! http://www.facebook.com/groups/327878966979
In the 1950's a woman named Ruth Handler noticed Barbra, her teenage daughter preferred adult like paper dolls over baby dolls. She came up with the idea for the first woman like doll called Barbie--she took her to Sears and tried to convince the execs to sell her in the infamous catalog. They refused because they said no parent would allow their daughter to play with a large breasted doll. They were certain she would NEVER sell. Finally they agreed to buy a small number in 1959--and well, you know how the story goes from here. 1,000 Barbie lovers gather every year for a 5 day Barbie Fest--and believe me they have some serious FUN!! Check out all the fun and crazy stuff they do at http://barbieconvention.com/
