Every time I embark on an adventure I always have some really good “take home”–lessons I learn from the people I meet along the way. These belly dancing gals taught me that you must have the courage to get past the “stupid phase” in order to allow yourself learn. That whole “stupid phase” theory got me thinking about life. It’s so easy as adults to get trapped in the norm for fear of feeling stupid. It paralyses us from trying new things and taking risks. Steve Jobs says it so well in his Stanford commencement speech (I have attached it at the bottom-it’s fabulous).
He talks about living each day like it is your last. If we live with that in mind we wont give the “stupid phase” much power because we have everything to gain and nothing to loose! The beauty of our generation is that reinvention is considered less and less “stupid.”
So what would you do/try if you were willing to gamble looking stupid to attain it?
GO FOR IT!
